The Beth Chaverim Senior Youth Group (BeaChY), is open to teens in grades 8 thru 12. We are affiliated with the The North American Federation of Temple Youth (NFTY).

Throughout the year, NFTY sponsors regional and national events or Kallot (gatherings). These Kallot offer informal Jewish education, peer socialization, and community building. In addition BeaChY-ites meet once a month to socialize and plan events and social action activities locally.

Beth Chaverim Sisterhood  

The objective of our organization is to support and bring together the members of Congregation Beth Chaverim and our community.  To accomplish this we offer assistance to all the wonderful committees and organizations within Congregation Beth Chaverm, our Jewish community, and by hosting Jewish events for congregational members throughout the year.

The Sisterhood is one of the most active organizations at Congregation Beth Chaverim.  We support community unity by hosting wonderful events like our Adult Purim Party, Kugel Off and the Sisterhood Shabbat Service.  We also take pride in holding themed Sisterhood meetings and various outings for the women of Congregation Beth Chaverim  If you are looking for a way to get involved in your community please join us at our next meeting or event to see what we are about.

To get started, the following information may answer some of your initial questions about our Sisterhood; our meetings are the last Tuesday of every month at 7pm, (unless we have a special event), all women are welcome, and dues are $18.00 annually.  Please contact Kara Molin for any questions you may have  Just click on Kara Molin in the list to the side of this article and the link will enable you to send her an e-mail, or feel free to call her at 426-8935.  We look forward to seeing you.

Beth Chaverim Choir  
The Choir is always looking to expand it's personnel. People interested in joining the choir should contact the Choir Director, Norm Schnobrich (H-757-482-6523), or by e-mail at schnobrich@verizon.net for a brief interview and a simple vocal evaluation.

  • Ability to read music IS NOT required.
  • Ability to read Hebrew IS NOT required.
  • Previous choir experience IS NOT required.
  • Previous knowledge of Jewish songs and hymns IS NOT required.

The Choir Director will assure that each member is prepared for performances.

Norm Schnobrich is a "Retired" Navy musician formerly at the U.S. Navy Band in Washington D.C. and subsequently the Director of the Woodwind Branch at the School of Music at Little Creek. He is currently a freelance musician in the Tidewater area teaching clarinet, saxophone, and flute. He is an adjunct member of both the Virginia Symphony and Virgina Opera and performs with the Williamsburg Chamber Players. Norm began his keyboard studies in High School and has been the Beth Chaverim's choir director since 1998.
